About me

Works as a postdoctoral researcher at Unit of Hultgren Laboratory, Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The work is supported by Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (website) which is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (website). Topic of this research work is "scrap tolerant and recycling friendly metallic alloys".

The aim of this research is to design novel low alloyed steels for automotive sector wherein higher amount of scrap steel can be used.

The research focuses on the following aspects

  • To identify critical "tramp" elements (X, Y,..) and their effect on binary Fe-X or Fe-X-Y systems in terms of elemental segregations and effect on mechanical properties. This will be done via advanced characterization techniques such as in-situ microscopy.
  • Develop suitable solidification models that can replicate this segregation effect (such as Scheil or DICTRA models)
  • Apply this knowledge to low alloyed steels using ICME and ML/AI approaches
