Research and projects

Since traffic congestion is increasing in major cities, the traditional approaches to road network capacity improvements are no longer feasible. My research is focused on finding sustainable solutions to improve existing road network and contribute to an effective transport system. My research interests concern transport and traffic planning. Traffic planning including road traffic users, capacity, accessibility, safety, traffic environmental impacts and Intelligent Transport systems (ITS). Latest project area has been parking management in urban area.

I have worked in Eu-Tempus project to develop a Master’s program in transportation for three Russian universities.  In addition to that I worked with another Eu-Tempus project to develop a Master’s program in transportation for eight universities in four Arab countries, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. I have worked with several projects of Parking Management for Stockholm municipality. the latest one is just finished and a paper will soon be submitted with the title, Impacts of on-street parking fees in southern inner suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden.
