About me
I am an Associate Professor in Engineering Education at the KTH Department of Learning. Involved in research, development, and teacher education, with special focus on sustainability education, challenge-driven education, and educational transformations. Leading role in enhancing sustainable development and transformation in KTH's education programs, and in the updating of the international engineering education framework CDIO with regards to sustainable development and transformation. One of three initiators and coordinators of a new research group on sustainability and education at KTH. As deputy director of the KTH Global Development Hub I have a leading role in the development of a challenge-driven education concept and in supporting teachers at KTH and African partner universities in implementing such learning approaches. Hereby we are creating conditions for our students to collaborate with eachother and various external stakeholders in Sweden and the African partner countries in projects that are addressing the Sustainable Development Goals in UN's 2030 Agenda.
I have a PhD and I am docent in Naval Architecture and have a background as Associate Professor at the KTH Centre for Naval Architecture. There I have for example been building up and been the director of the KTH Master of Science Program in Naval Architecture, and have been teaching and doing research on ship dynamics, ship structures, ship design, and high-speed craft. I have established and been the director of the KTH Ship Dynamics Research Program in close collaboration with industry such as Wallenius Marine. On commission of the Swedish Transport Agency I have been deeply involved in the development of the Second Generation Intact Stability Criteria within UN's Shipping Authority IMO. I was one of the founding members and have been the coordinator of the International Ship Stability Research and Development Committee (SRDC). I am still involved in some naval architecture activities as teacher, supervisor, and advisor.
