KTH-researchers meeting with the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation from Colombia

Katarina Larsen  presented experiences from the Econavipesca project and co-creation dialogues between researchers and local fishing community representatives from the region of Cauca in Colombia. Stefan Hallström  introduced the Lightweight Structures Laboratory, where the presentations took place, and experiences from collaboration on boat design in dialogue with the local community. Other points discussed were how KTH-students' exchange activities further strengthened collaboration with scholars at universities in Colombia during fieldwork activities and importance of the gastronomy, local culture, traditions, and local knowledge. The meeting at KTH further emphasised the importance of dialogues and co-creation between local communities and researchers to understand the community-level needs and preconditions for interdisciplinary collaboration between engineering, social sciences and humanities.
