Having a thorough and sustainable strategy for protecting valuable intellectual property from an early stage, is a crucial part of a long-term success. This lunch seminar will help you navigate the deep waters of intellectual property within the biotechnology field through a panel discussion. The panel is facilitated by KTH Innovation lawyer Håkan Sterner – specialized in intellectual property with 10+ years of experience from global pharma.

Panelists

Sana Alajamovic, Co-founder and CEO, Sigrid Therapeutics
Sana has, prior to founding Sigrid Therapeutics, a successful track record in commercializing research and discovery by establishing partnerships with global top tier biopharmaceutical actors. Her previous positions include Head of Business Development for Drug Delivery at Nanologica AB, Business Development Manager within the Serendipity Innovations Group and Business Development Manager for the Swedish-American Life Science Summit. Sigrid Therapeutics® is pioneering a user-friendly product made of precisely engineered particles with extraordinary absorptive capacity. It interacts with the gut to decrease and delay the uptake of nutrients, lowering lipid and HbA1c levels in a safe and effective way. 

Dongfang Li.

Jonatan Henschen, PhD and Dongfang Li, PhD - Co-founders, FineCell
Jonatan and Dongfang are researchers at the KTH School of Chemical Science and Engineering and the division of Wood Chemistry and Pulp Technology. Together with Professor Monica Ek, they founded FineCell AB. FineCell’s technology enables cheaper and simpler production of renewable and high-performance nanomaterials based on forest resources (nanocrystalline cellulose). These materials have beneficial properties for many applications, such as in aerospace/automotive materials, construction materials, packaging, paper, personal care products, foods, drugs, membranes, and paints. FineCell recently won the Stockholm City Innovation award, and the company is also a part of the KTH Innovation pre-incubator.


Håkan Sterner, Legal Counsel, KTH Innovation
Håkan is specialized on IP and helps KTH Innovation startups daily on legal issues regarding their businesses, this includes general IP, company law and confidentiality issues. Prior to joining KTH Innovation, Håkan has several years of experience from global pharma companies handling multijurisdictional patent litigations, developing intellectual property strategies, license negotiations, and more.
