Job description

The research group LangSec (Language-Based Security) at KTH is recruiting a postdoc in the area of web application security. The selected candidate will contribute to ongoing research in the group with main focus on WebInspector,  a project on detection and prevention of code-reuse attacks, funded by the Swedish Research Council. WebInspector  aims at developing scalable static and dynamic detection  and mitigation techniques, and tool support  against vulnerabilities such as insecure deserialization, prototype pollution, and more. The target languages are JavaScript and Java, along with their runtime environments.  The opportunities for collaborations within academia and industry, as well as for influencing the direction of the work are very good.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.

The candidate must exhibit a high degree of scientific skills within one or, preferably more, of the research areas concerned: software security, software engineering, programming languages, formal methods. As a person you are independent and have good collaboration skills. Teaching abilities and awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality are meriting.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Proven expertise in the areas of software security and programming languages, for example, via publications in conferences and journals.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
