Research Student Assistant on AI Software and Smart Microscopy

Job description

The AICell Lab (AICell Lab) in the Department of Applied Physics at KTH and Science
for Life Laboratory is seeking a motivated research student assistant (forskningsamanuens) to
join our team. The lab focuses on developing AI systems for data-driven cell and molecular
biology, and this position will support various projects involving software tools for
crowdsourcing image annotation, facilitating AI model training, and powering smart
microscopy systems.
As a research student assistant, you will work on projects that involve the use of
ChatGPT/LLM-powered agent systems, and your contributions will play a crucial role in
advancing our research. You will gain experience in software development, mechanical
design, and prompt engineering for LLM systems. Due to the nature of the work, strong
communication skills are essential, and the ideal candidate should be flexible, enthusiastic
about learning, and comfortable switching between different projects as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • You should be admitted to first or second-level cycle education at a Swedish university 
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in English since this is used in the daily work. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Student at KTH
  • Experience in prompt engineering using ChatGPT / Large Language Models
  • Experience in software development, especially for AI tools
  • Experience with mechanical design, physics simulation
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks for image annotation, AI model training, and
    software development.
  • Project and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning and the ability to adapt to new challenges.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
