Postdoc in Communication Modeling of Distributed Quantum-Classical Systems

Job description

This position will work on distributed quantum computing, focusing on its integration with high-performance computing and applications in real-world scenarios. You are expected to work on modeling distributed hybrid classical-quantum systems, development on either quantum simulators or hardware, and project management tasks.  You will have opportunities to collaborate with international top researchers and industries. The position will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • A doctoral degree in Computer Science
  • Experience with quantum computer simulators, e.g., qiskit, qsim
  • Experience with parallel programming in C/C++
  • Research experience in quantum computing or high-performance computing with strong publication records
  • Collaborative abilities. You should be able to collaborate with people with diverse background
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Independence: You should be able to independently drive the project and perform related research tasks.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Familiarity with CUDA or MPI programming
  • Teaching abilities
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
