Bibliometric Analyst at KTH Library

KTH Library

KTH Library has about 50 employees who work to support education and research at KTH. The library is also a central study and meeting place on campus. We work continuously with leadership and co-workers to create a workplace where employees thrive and can develop.

Assignment

We are looking for an employee for the bibliometrics team whom, together with the colleagues, evolves the work with data-driven analysis in various areas at KTH with a focus on publication statistics. The assignment includes, among other things, co-publishing and benchmarking analyses, improving data quality, data flows and, to some extent, working with external analyses for other universities and institutes. You will present bibliometric analysis results and support researchers and management with evaluation and development.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • You have a university degree in a field relevant to the position
  • Your skills and experience in programming and analysis of large datasets are extensive
  • You have current knowledge of scientific publishing and of the research environment
  • Oral and written communication in both English and Swedish occur regularly at work so you need a strong command of English as well as a basic knowledge of the Swedish language

You have excellent collaboration skills and, as a colleague, you are receptive and contribute to the team working towards achieving its goals. You are self-reliant and drive forward the processes you work on. You have a strong ability to analyze and solve complex problems, and you are accustomed to presenting results clearly and compellingly of your own and your colleagues work in both smaller and larger settings.

Preferred qualifications

  • Completed third cycle education
  • Up-to-date experience in conducting bibliometric analyses or other types of research evaluation
  • Previous experience with data visualization and data-driven decision support
  • Adequate experience of programming in R or Python, as well as in SQL.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
