Job description

Fiber processes deals with the various processes and techniques used to expose fibers from wood or other materials. The fibers are mainly used as raw material in paper and pulp production, but also other products for e.g. the textile industry. Wood chemistry examines the chemical reactions that take place in these steps as well as the morphological and chemical structure of fibers.


The position includes separation of fibers using chemical extraction processes, as well as characterization of raw materials and resulting products using various analysis techniques.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Experience in the separation and analysis of polymers, analysis of chemical and mechanical properties, e.g. using spectroscopy, microscopy.
  • Experience of writing reports in Swedish and English, e.g. degree project at bachelor's or master's level.
  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the chemistry or equivalent competence. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience of experimental wood chemical work.
