Electroglottography is a method used to investigate the vocal fold contact. Its non-invasiveness makes it a useful device in clinical practice, however the interpretation of its signal remains uncertain due to the difficulties of accessing the larynx for direct measurements. This project uses a kinematic model of the vocal fold vibrations to derive the vocal fold contact area over time, and then compares the obtained waveshapes with real electroglottographic waveshapes in an attempt to identify the relation between those waveshapes and geometrical (or kinematic) parameters of the vocal folds.
