Privacy and security
Security research at the Division of Information Science and Engineering aims at preserving and enhancing privacy and improving the resilience of communication systems against adversarial attacks. Applications of our research range from wireless security to smart meter privacy.
A large part of our research utilizes concepts from information-theoretic security and guarantees unconditional security. We also employ model-based detection techniques for intrusion detection and authentication. Our results establish ultimate performance bounds on secure communication as well as practical secure communication algorithms.
