Two new arrivals ready for users
Two new devices are now available for users: a laser cutting machine and a rolling mill. Find out more and apply for licenses in LIMS.
The Hultgren Laboratory aims to maintain and enhance its portfolio of instruments and tools. The latest additions are a rolling mill and laser cutting machine.
Rolling mill for cold/hot rolling
Rolling is the most widely used method of metalworking and an important part of the process when manufacturing steel for use in construction and other industries. This lab-scale rolling mill (see above photograph) makes it possible to efficiently do experimental research on the effect of cold/hot working on microstructure and properties of metallic materials.
Laser cutting machine
With a laser power of 3 kW, this laser cutter (see photograph below) is a precise, fast and reliable cutting method, which can be used for cutting and sample preparation of a wide range of metal sheets.
