Illinois Institute of Technology is located in Chicago, Illinois, and is a private, technology-focused, research university. IIT offers degrees in for instance architecture, design, human sciences and engineering. IIT is divided into five colleges. The campus was designed by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, former dean at the College of Architecture. Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States and known for shopping, arts, sports, comedy and jazz clubs and its' history as The Windy City.

Exchange opportunities
Number of spots: 2 year spots or 4 semester spots.
Grade requirements: It is mandatory for architecture students that applies for exchange studies to submit a portfolio. The quality of the portfolio is evaluated by a jury that consist of the Programme Directors and a team of teachers at the School of Architecture. By reviewing the portfolio, the jury assesses whether the applicant can be considered to be nominated for an exchange spot.
