Australia: Monash University

Monash University is the second oldest university in the region of Victoria. The university has around 67,000 students with a large population of international students, 24,000. The university has five campuses in the Melbourne area. It is ranked top five in Australia and known as the best university in Australia for engineering and technology.

Note: Courses can be chosen either on undergraduate OR postgraduate level, not both. An additional insurance, if staying in the country more than two weeks after the exchange studies have been finalized, is required.

Exchange opportunities

Number of spots: five autumn semester and five spring semester spots.
Grade requirements: None. A minimum of C in English from upper secondary school is required. If the Leaving Certificate is older than five years, a test in English at KTH Language Division is required, with a resultat of C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which is to submit into the application material to the university.

Increased costs for student visas for Australia

On 1 July 2024, the Australian Department of Home Affairs announced an increased cost for student visas for Australia. The student visa fee is now AUD 1600.00 (~EUR 1000). Australian universities are working together to highlight the impact on exchange students who plan to study in Australia.
