New doctoral studies subjects and doctoral programmes established
The School of Architecture and the Built Environment is now establishing three new third-cycle (doctoral education) subjects and two new doctoral programmes. The general syllabuses and doctoral programmes become effective after their respective approval dates.
New programmes and subjects
- New programme: Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering
- Environmental Engineering - new subject to be included in the programme Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Technology

Move of doctoral studies subject
In connection with the establishment of new programmes, the existing third-cycle subject Industrial Ecology is moved to the new doctoral programme Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering from the doctoral programme Energy and Environmental Systems (at the ITM school). A revision of the subject syllabus for Industrial Ecology has also been made.
Background
Head of School at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment has previously decided to carry out a review of all doctoral study programmes within the school under the direction of the school's Director of Third Cycle Education (FA). In accordance with the final report for the above review, there is a need to establish new third-cycle subjects and third-cycle programmes within the Department of Urban Planning and the Environment and the Department of Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering (SEED).
