KTH website is tenth best in Europe

Published Feb 25, 2008

KTH came tenth in Europe in a ranking of how the world’s prominent universities present themselves on the Internet. On the world list, KTH lies at an honourable 72nd place.

This particular ranking - the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities – is complied twice annually by a unit within the Spanish Research Council. The aim is to stimulate researchers to publish more scientific material on Internet in order to benefit an international public.

This survey, which has been carried out since 2004, examines university websites as concerns quantitative data such as size, accessibility, number of documents of academic content and number of scientific articles.

As in many other world university ranking lists, the Webometrics list is dominated by American universities. At the top there are MIT, Stanford and Harvard. KTH is ranked highest of all the Swedish universities which gives a tenth place among European seats of learning.
