KTH President become Vice Chair of IVA

Published Dec 15, 2008

Peter Gudmundson, KTH President, has been appointed Vice Chair of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA. IVA was founded in 1919 and is one of the oldest engineering academies in the world.

”I feel very honoured by this task and I look forward to becoming involved in IVA operations. IVA has a vital role to play, not least as an opinion builder within research, education and industrial development,” comments Peter Gudmundson.

At its latest Academy Meeting, the IVA elected two new vice chairpeople - Peter Gudmundson and Charlotte Brogren, ABB Robotics, to the IVA Presidium for the period 2009-2011.

Fourteen new members were also elected to IVA including Hans Hertz, Head of the Department of Applied Physics at KTH. Currently IVA boasts 819 Swedish and 260 international members, including those newly elected.
