Multi-stakeholder workshop: Materials and consumption for sustainable development
A workshop where researchers from different disciplines, industry partners and public organisations can discuss how to adress the sustainability challenges connected to materials, and biomaterials in particular. Hosts are the research institute RISE and KTH Climate Action Centre.
Time: Fri 2023-05-26 09.00 - 12.00
Location: KTH Climate Action Centre, Teknikringen 43, Stockholm
Welcome to a workshop arranged by RISE and KTH Climate Action Centre. The purpose is to discuss the role of bio-based materials and consumption for reaching a climate neutral, safe and resilient society.
Some urgent sustainability challenges connected to materials include how to achieve carbon neutral value chains, and lowering the demand of materials and energy from production and consumption in a circular economy. Potential goal conflicts exist, e.g. between circularity and the spread of toxic compounds in nature and society, and between an increased use of biomaterials and biodiversity.
At the workshop we will share opportunities and obstacles in the field, identify knowledge gaps and common interest, and investigate potential joint projects. We would like to invite researchers from different disciplines with interest in the areas, industry partners, and stakeholders from the civil society and public organisations.
Lunch mingle after the workshop at 12.00.
