Jens Zander new Honorary Doctor at Aalto University

Professor Jens Zander, Dean of the school has been conferred an honorary doctorate at the Aalto University. He is one out of ten eminent persons in the fields of science, technology and society that the Aalto University schools of technology will confer honorary doctorates.

Professor Jens Zander has actively collaborated with Aalto University through joint projects and hosting research visits and has acted as an opponent for several doctoral theses.

– The Aalto University is a very prestigious university and also an important partner for us which makes this Honorary Doctorate highly appreciated by me and by other researchers at KTH. We are working together with Aalto University on several high profile research projects, says Jens Zander.
The degrees will be awarded at a ceremony to take place on 10 October 2014 in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland. This year the ceremonies mark 80 years of conferment ceremonies in technology, which is, at the same time, the theme of the ceremonies.
The other persons receiving an honorary doctorate are Mr Jorma Eloranta, Chairman of the Board, Professor Mikko Hupa, Dr Sirkka Hämäläinen, Professor Sumio Iijima, Professor Torgeir Moan, Professor Hans Niemantsverdriet, Professor H. Vincent Poor, Professor Claudia Tesche and Professor Esko Ukkonen.
