Catherine Trask, Associate Professor at the Division of Ergonomics, and Programme Director of the master’s programme in Technology, Work and Health, is the recipient of this year's Levi Prize for Work Environment. The winner is appointed by the Engineers of Sweden association.

“Catherine is an enthusiastic and captivating teacher and supervisor. She is deeply appreciated by the engineering students and doctoral students,” says the motivation.

The Levi Prize is awarded ‘teachers, supervisors or engineers who are passionate about and focus their engineering expertise on a good working environment, such as ergonomics, design, accessibility, processes or similar.’ The winner receives a prize of SEK 50 000.

“It is really humbling to have joined a list of many esteemed teachers that I admire, many from KTH, and also colleagues from other universities in Sweden,” says Catherine Trask.

She says the award acknowledges how important it is for society that engineers get good training in work environment topics.

“Every worker deserves a safe work environment that contributes to their well-being. I hope and wish that graduates of the master in technology, Work, and Health contribute to this goal in their professional careers.”

Catherine Trask receives the award for her ability to create participation and activity among engineering students.

“Catherine's international network and expertise contribute greatly to Sweden's engineering programmes and Swedish working life. All in all, Catherine is an extremely worthy laureate in the spirit of Lennart Levi,’ says Ulrika Lindstrand, President of the Engineers of Sweden association.
