Orders placed for the new roll-in station

For enabling experiments using larger and bulkier sample environments at the Swedish Materials Science beamline, has an ongoing project to design and specify a new roll-in station that will be located in Experimental Hutch 2.

Following a procurement process, orders have now been placed for a range of equipment that will compose the roll-in station. This includes:

• a hexapod, capable of supporting sample environments up to 2 tonnes
• a large area detector
• fast imaging detectors etc-

This specialist equipment is now being produced and expected delivery is late 2024.

During the winter shutdown period, this equipment will be installed - and this new experimental station will be commissioned. A design report will follow shortly.
