DESY facilities restrict access to state institutions in Russia and Belarus
DESY has decided to prohibit all Russian and Belarussian institutions access and usage of DESY resources. This affects any PETRA users – regardless of nationality – affilated with Russian or Belarussian institutes.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research has sent a directive to all German research institutes to suspend cooperation with Russian and Belarusian institutes.
DESY considers this directive is in-line with the peaceful principles of DESY. DESY has therefore decided to prohibit all Russian and Belarussian institutions access and usage of DESY resources.
Consequently, with immediate effect, PETRA users (of any nationality) that are affilated with Russian or Belarussian institutes, are NOT permitted to:
- Particpate in beamtimes, either onsite or remotely
- Access and use the IT infrastructure of DESY
- Be authors/co-authors of any publications with DESY staff as authors/co-authors
