World Water Day 2018 seminar

Published Apr 06, 2018

Organised by SIWI Swedish Water House in Stockholm

On March 22, the annual World Water Day was again celebrated by the SIWI Swedish Water House via a seminar, this year organised in collaboration with KTH and WWF. In this annual event, challenges but also possibilities within the water sector are highlighted - this year the focus was given to nature-based water services. Among many events around the world, SIWI Swedish Water House arranged an afternoon in the spirit of water at Grand Hotel in Stockholm and invited anyone interested. Participants could listen to presentations on, among others topics, the outcomes of the World Water Development Reports 2018  by UN-Water, which this year focuses on nature-based solutions for water treatment. Furthermore, the winners of the 2018 Stockholm Water Prize were announced; the award this year was given to Professors Bruce Rittmann and Mark van Loosdrecht for their revolutionizing work on water and wastewater treatment. For further interest in water dialogues and dissemination, please check out this year's World Water Week  happening at the end of August.
