OSeMOSYS on the UNDP/UNDESA Workshop 'Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development'

Researchers of KTH-dESA, together with UNDESA, delivered a training on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 6th to 10th. The training, organised by the regional UNDP office, was directed to UNDP officials and personnel from governments of East Asia countries, among which Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Mongolia. The programme included an introduction to a number of tools developed by KTH-dESA and UNDESA in collaboration with other institutions, to inform long-term energy and integrated planning strategies. On the second day of training, OSeMOSYS was introduced, as a framework to develop country energy and electricity system models. Following, the Model Management Infrastructure MoManI was presented and the trainees were guided through the development of simple energy system models with the interface.
