September 25th-26th in Brussels

Open source modelling will be a core, cross-cutting theme at the next meeting of the Energy Modelling Platform for Europe (EMP-E) , to be held on September 25th-26th in Brussels, at the premises of the European Commission's DG R&I. Among other themes, the role of open models and data in modelling technological innovation, integrated energy and resource efficiency and behaviour will be discussed. OSeMOSYS will be featured due to its role in Europe as a well-established stakeholder engagement and education tool for the assessment of decarbonisation pathways. An upcoming PanEU application of OSeMOSYS will be presented during poster sessions and focus groups as a part of the Horizon 2020 REEEM project . Led by the Horizon 2020 projects MEDEAS, REEEM, REflex and SET-Nav, EMP-E constitutes a continuous forum for exchanging research, development and practice of energy system modelling in Europe and, where feasible, promote the sharing of data and resources. It culminates in a yearly conference, bringing together scientists and policy makers to discuss cutting edge energy modelling issues.
