OSeMOSYS: Introducing elasticity

A new peer-reviewed paper by Denis Lavigne, from Royal Military College Saint-Jean, Quebec, Canada, was published on the Universal Journal of Management, by the title ' OSeMOSYS: Introducing elasticity '. The paper presents a modification introduced in the core code to embed an elasticity of demand capability in OSeMOSYS models. The addition allows the possibility to endogenously reduce some end-use demands to satisfy GHG emissions objectives. 'Results show the impact of the approach as severe emissions limitations are imposed on a system. Using a similar approach would allow OSeMOSYS users to better analyze the impacts of severe GHG emissions targets on their own energy system, helping them identify which behaviour change for some end-use demands shall be encouraged' concludes the paper.
