Capacity building workshop using OSeMOSYS in Paraguay

In collaboration with the UNDESA

KTH Division of Energy Systems Analysis in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs ( UNDESA ), and Paraguay´s Ministry of Planning for Development ( STP ) conducted the first capacity building activity on Energy Systems Modelling in Asuncion, Paraguay. The workshop, held on the week of 7th-11th August, counted with the participation of 15 government officials from several ministries and agencies (STP, ANDE, VMME, ITAIPU, POLI/UNA).

KTH dESA researchers  and  introduced the participants to the main concepts of linear programming, energy systems, and energy systems modelling and in the use of the long-term energy planning tool OSeMOSYS and its interface MoManI. During the workshop, the attendees built a simplified model of the energy system of Paraguay in the several OSeMOSYS hand-on sessions.
