Broar till kunskap - An exhibition on building bridges in society

Bridges connect people. They take us across geographical barriers, they connect neighbourhoods, districts and continents. At KTH, we have devoted ourselves to the fine art of bridge building for almost 200 years and in all its forms. We will now celebrate this in a new exhibition.
Welcome to Broar till kunskap, an exhibition organised by the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH. The exhibition will be on display from 13-31 May 2024 at KTH Library.

More information about the opening event

KTH is home to some of Europe's leading experts in bridge design and construction. We are proud of our scientific environment where we build bridges between disciplines - from construction and architecture to digitalisation, materials technology and the humanities - and with society outside academia. Building bridges is a beautiful thing. We want to manifest this in an exhibition at KTH in May 2024.

The basis of the exhibition is a photo exhibition by Marianne Ström, art historian and photographer, who has over 6,000 photographs of bridges in her collection. This summer, the inauguration of the 2024 Olympics will take place along the bridges over the Seine in Paris, where Marianne has lived for many years.

The exhibition will also showcase interesting current research and education on the theme of bridge building at KTH, including student work. We are organising open lunch time seminars during the exhibition period that relate freely to the theme: "Bridges to knowledge".
