Olga Kordas is among this year's most powerful in sustainability

The year's most powerful in sustainability has been named. This year, the jury has selected 101 people who all make significant contributions to make Sweden more sustainable. One of these is Associate Professor Olga Kordas, who has been awarded place 34 on the list.

Olga Kordas  is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Urban Development and Director of Viable Cities, a strategic innovation programme with the mission to createClimate Neutral Cities 2030 with a good life for all within planetary boundaries. Her main research areas are urban data analytics for energy transition, and smart and sustainable cities, addressing the role of ICT, electrification and citizen engagement as enablers for sustainable urban development.

Viable Cities - Together towards climate-neutral cities

Olga Kordas is the Director of Viable Cities - the Swedish National Strategic Innovation Program for Smart and Sustainable Cities – a research and innovation funding programme 2017-2030 with the budget of 100 MEUR.

Together with cities - municipalities, business, academia and civil society - and public authorities, we work to create ecologically, economically and socially sustainable cities. Cities that work well for the people who live in them, that are good for the economy of citizens, businesses and society - and - that are good for the climate and our planet.

Viable Cities is one of 17 strategic innovation programmes supported in a joint initiative by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas. KTH is the host organisation for Viable Cities.
