Mozhgan Mahloo from Iran came to Sweden for master studies, she continued with doctoral studies at KTH and now she has defended her PhD thesis "Transport Solutions for Future Broadband Access Networks". Here she is telling us more about her topic and results.

Where are you from and where did you study before coming to KTH?

– I am from Iran. I received my bachelor degree in Electrical engineering from IUST, Iran University of Science and Technology before I move to Sweden to pursue my education in master level.

What is your topic and why did you choose it?

– My research was related to finding the best solution for the next generation of high capacity internet. As you all know the connectivity nowadays is a new utility such as electricity and water, which mankind is highly dependent on that for a better life. Hence, the joy of being a part of such evolution was one of the main reasons for choosing this topic.

Describe your topic in short.

– Main goal of my study is to provide the comprehensive guideline for the internet service providers to offer a capacity of several hundreds of Mbps per user in a reliable and cost efficient way considering fixed broadband connection as well as mobile broadband.

Tell us something about your results.

– My result can be used as a guideline for the Internet providers to offer high capacity and reliable service to the customers with a reasonable price. 

What will the future bring for your research topic?

– The future of the internet is defined by the advancement of the device technologies as well as the economical and political aspects. Let see what future brings to us!

What are your future plans?

– I will pursue my career as an industrial researcher at Ericsson.
