An extra focus on Internet Technology

KTH School of Information and Communication Technology, ICT seeks a Professor in Internet Technology. The recruitment is a part of an extra focus on the area.

– KTH has been pioneers within this field since the beginning of Internet Technology in the 80:s when SUNET was formed and operated by KTH. But you can’t live on you old strenths and the position needs to be defended. We are now using the generational change to make a broad international search of candidates who can continue to build an international leading research activity, says Professor Jens Zander, head of the research department in Communication Systems at School of iCT.

The subject includes design and analysis of Internet-based communications, special emphasis is put on architectural and systems issues in large-scale networks and the communication protocols for such networks. The speciality area at School of ICT is primarily the design of networks and communication protocols.
The new professor will build and lead a world-leading research group and an educational program in the subject area of Internet Technology.
– This position is located at the unit for Network Systems within the Department of Communication Systems. The unit is already responsible for most of the education in Internet Technology at KTH. The new professor's role is to enhance the research at the department and raise it to an high international caliber, says professor Jens Zander.
