KTH Climate Action Centre, in collaboration with the Engineers of Sweden, is now opening for project applications that aim to strengthen KTH's contribution to climate mitigation or adaptation. The projects will also strengthen KTH Climate Action Centre's position as an excellent research environment within the climate challenge. We especially encourage applications that are multi- or interdisciplinary, for instance working across disciplines and schools at KTH and/or involving external organizations that benefit from the project (e.g. policy organizations, non-profit organizations etc.). Projects should be clearly connected to the Climate Action Centre vision and mission, and ideally also propose activities with the Centre.
Be creative! No field and proposal, as long as it connects to the aims of the Climate Action Centre, is out of scope.
The call comprises SEK 1 million for 2025, and four studies of SEK 250,000 each will be granted
The application should include:
- A brief description of the project, state of the art, problem formulation, challenges addressed, etc.
- Collaborating partners, if applicable
- Action plan and time table
- How the project links to the Climate Action Centre vision and mission, and proposal of activities with the centre (e.g. creation of collaboration groups at KTH, release of policy briefs, outreach, seminars etc.)
- Budget
- CV of the applicants
- The proposal should be of maximum 5 pages, excluding Budget, CVs and references.
The projects will be conducted during 2025-2026 and reported back to the KTH Climate Action Centre. All projects will present their results in a seminar during autumn 2026. Eligible to apply are researchers and faculty staff at KTH, and funds are internally invoiced by the main applicant. The funding can only be used by KTH staff, meaning no funding can go to external partners. Criteria for award will include novelty of the approach, possible impact on climate action goals, multidisciplinarity, and the strength of the link to the KTH Climate Action Centre activities.
