PhD Course - Circular Economy and Industrial Systems (7.5 Credits), 2022
For year 2022, the PhD course “Circular Economy and Industrial Systems ” will be offered from the platform of the Strategic Innovation Program for production 2030 supported by VINNOVA, Swedish Energy Agency and Formas.
The PhD course is designed by the Circular Economy initiative at KTH (CE@KTH). Faculty members from 8 departments and 3 schools at KTH are involved in teaching the course and supervising the student projects/assignments. The aim of the PhD course is to
- Provide conceptual frameworks necessary to understand the foundations of the circular economy paradigm
- Give insights into current industry trends regarding CE
- Provide methods and tools for the implementation of CE in practice
- Provide the policy rationale for CE
Intended learning outcomes
This course will enable PhD students to
- Describe and analyze the conceptual frameworks necessary to understand the foundations of the CE
- Describe current industry trends regarding CE
- Based on a system perspective suggest implementation of CE strategies in industry and society and discuss opportunities and barriers in implementation efforts
- Describe and critically review the policy rationale for CE
