Dags för framtidens utbildning
Nytt år nya utmaningar. Mycket händer på KTH och en av de viktigaste förändringarna är att vår nya rektor har tillträtt. Han är aktiv både på Facebook och med en blogg på KTH:s hemsida, och jag ser fram emot att få läsa hans tankar kring KTH:s utbildning i samma anda som de första inläggen.
Som ni säkert vet fattade vår förra rektor under 2022 beslut om principer för KTH:s Framtida Utbildning. Principer som ska ”prägla arbetet med att utveckla KTH:s utbildningar så att de är fortsatt högrelevanta och attraktiva i den ökade konkurrensen mellan nationella och internationella lärosäten samt nya utbildningsaktörer.” En utgångspunkt för arbetet med dessa principer är den betydelse som våra utbildningar har för en transformation mot ett hållbart samhälle.
Utbildningsnämnden har under hösten 2022 skapat en visualisering av principerna som ser ut på följande sätt:
Utvecklingsarbetet och implementeringen av framtidens utbildning ska pågå i ett förändringsprogram fram till 2027. Programmets utvecklingsarbete samordnas av en programledning: en programledare (Joakim Lilliesköld) och två biträdande programledare, jag och SCI-skolans GA Gunnar Tibert. Programledarnas arbetsuppgifter är i huvudsak att:
- Leda programmet Framtidens utbildning
- Organisera samarbete mellan olika arbetsgrupper
- Underlätta erfarenhetsutbyte, lärande och värdeskapande aktiviteter
- Föreslå och förankra förslag på pilotprojekt och skolgemensamma satsningar
- Följa upp pilotprojekt och satsningar
- Identifiera förändringsbehov i KTH:s styrdokument
- Kommunicera programmet och vad som händer internt och externt.
På Storträffen i november 2022 fick vi alla möjlighet att både diskutera Framtidens utbildning i sin helhet samt olika principer och detaljer i mindre grupper. Jag hoppas så många som möjligt av ITM:s medarbetare hade möjlighet att delta, men om någon missade möjligheten finns det dokumentation i form av både videos och skriftligt underlag tillgängliga här.
Avslutningsvis så vill jag påminna er alla om att den femte konferensen för KTH Scholarship of Teaching and Learning hålls den 7 mars på KTH i samarbete med Stockholm Universitet och Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm Trio). Fokus är Framtidens lärande, läs mer om det här.

Time for Future Education
New year, new challenges. A lot is going on at KTH, and one of the most significant changes is that our new president is in place. He is active both on Facebook and with a blog on KTH’s website. I look forward to reading his thoughts on KTH’s education in the same spirit as the first posts.
As you probably know, our previous president has decided about the principles for KTH’s Future Education. These principles will “characterize the work aimed to develop KTH’s education programs so that they remain highly relevant and attractive in the increased competition between national and international universities as well as new players for education.
The principles can be visualized as follows:
A starting point for the work is our education’s importance for a transformation towards a sustainable society.
The development and implementation of Future Education will take place within a program until 2027. The program’s development work is coordinated by a program management: a program manager (Joakim Lilliesköld) and two assistant program managers, myself, and the SCI school’s GA Gunnar Tibert. Their tasks are to:
- Lead the Future Education program
- Organize collaboration between different working groups
- Facilitate the exchange of experience, learning, and value-creating activities
- Propose and anchor proposals for pilot projects and school-wide initiatives
- Follow up on pilot projects and investments
- Identify the need for change in KTH’s steering documents
- Communicate the program and what is happening internally and externally.
I hope many of ITM’s employees took the opportunity to participate in the Storträff in November when we all had the chance to discuss Future Education in general and various principles and details in smaller groups. I would also like to remind you that the fifth conference for the KTH Scholarship of Teaching and Learning will be held on March 7 at KTH in collaboration with Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm Trio). The focus is the learning of the future; read more about it here.
