Center for Anthropocene History researcher to join symposium on "extraction beyond Earth"
Centre post-doctoral researcher Megan Eardley will speak at the OFF EARTH symposium, which focuses on mining beyond the Earth – e.g. on other planets – as part of the 18th Venice International Architecture Biennale.
Megan Eardley has been ivited to be part of the OFF EARTH symposium organized by the curators of the Luxembourg Pavilion at the International Architecture Biennale in Venice on the 7th of November, 2024.
As part of the Infrastructures roundtable, Eardley will discuss NASA's investment in physiological research conducted in Apartheid South Africa.
"This symposium will bring together international architects, historians, geographers, and artists, working critically on issues of extraction beyond Earth. It will feature fragments from the exhibition in Venice , including the screening of the film ‘ Cosmic Market’ , directed by Armin Linke, as well as a conversation with the artist.The symposium in Luxembourg will result in the publication of a series of essays in collaboration with e-flux." –– Luxembourg Centre for Architecture
