About me
I am an artist using sound to explore ways of world making. With my work I am aiming at articulating the aesthetic and epistemic dimensions of art, understanding artistic experience as a compound of action, perception and reflection. My works are the result of research processes drawing on the practice and theory of music composition, sound art, choreography and dance, installation art, interaction design and digital instrument making.
I am professor of Computer Music and Multimedia at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria and I serve as visiting professor at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. In addition to my artistic work and teaching, I direct publicly funded transdisciplinary research projects (e.g. Embodied Generative Music, The Choreography of Sound, Transpositions: Artistic Data Exploration, Inter_agency: Composing Sonic Human-Computer Agent Networks) and supervise scholarly and artistic doctoral research.
