Deadline course discontinuation (dropping a course)

If you have registered for a course but want to discontinue, you need to notify this via Ladok within three weeks from the start of the period.

A course registration indicates your intention to attend the course you have been admitted to. If you have registered for a course, you do not intend to take, you must discontinue the course within three weeks from the start of the period. If you do not discontinue (drop) the course in Ladok within the first three weeks of the period, you are expected to complete it.

By discontinuing a course on time, you can take another course in the future instead. If you discontinue a course within the first three weeks of the period, it is the same as never having taken the course, and you can apply for it or another course later. Please note that if you are a programme student, you are only allowed to take courses within the scope of the programme and its credit limitations.

Please note that if you are a fee-paying student and discontinue a course later than three weeks after the start of the period, you will most likely exceed the number of credits allowed and have to pay for any additional courses you register for.

To discontinue a course, log in to Ladok, click “I no longer wish to attend”, and follow the instructions. If you cannot notify the discontinuance via Ladok, please contact the course.
